The Queen of Bavaria Conure frequents tropical rain forests, they are usually seen in pairs or small groups. They are shy birds and are not often observed in the wild. If they are disturbed they utter a shrill call which is repeated rapidly.
Their diet is ripened fruit, berries and seeds which they find in the forest canopy's. It is said that their plumage gets stained with juices from the varying fruits they eat, this suggests that fruit forms the major part of their diet.
They nest in hollows in trees and a normal clutch is 3-4 eggs.
The plumage of the Queen of Bavaria is bright yellow everywhere apart the flight feathers and they are green.
Pet potential: The Queen of Bavaria makes a very beautiful and affectionate pet. They are quite intelligent and that makes them easy to tame and train. Their talking ability is fair but like many of the Aratinga Conures they can be very loud. They are lively birds and they love climbing and hanging upside down, as well as playing and chewing their toys. They also love human company and can be very affectionate but they are prone to feather plucking.
