Pionus
Pionus is a genus of small parrots that originate from Central and South America. They inhabit both the lowlands and the rain forests, feeding in the canopy on seeds and fruit. They are quiet little birds, about 28cm/11inches in length and make good pets. The most popular species for pets are the Maximilian, Blue-headed, Bronze-Winged and Dusky Pionus.
